That was the last thing Dad wrote. I think about what it must have been like for him to stand in a field of forgiveness, on the edge of his life. Was it some kind of heat field? Or more like a pool filled with lukewarm yogurt? I close my eyes and see him swimming in the yoghurt. Arms and legs are held up by the thick soft mass, as he slowly slides towards the poolside. The pool is shallow, impossible to drown in.
